Vasquez played for Swedish club IFK Göteborg at youth level. He played his first Meistriliiga match on April 26, 2008, in a 0-0 draw against JK Viljandi Tulevik.[1] Kalju released Vasquez on May 19, 2009.[2]

Salvador also has an older brother, Andrés Vasquez, who plays football for FC Zürich. Vasquez is Peruvian descent, his parents are from Lima, Peru.
